ºÚÁÏÍø operates on a rolling admission basis, which means we review applications as they are received and release admission decisions on an ongoing basis. There is no fixed application deadline, and students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
While applications are accepted until programs are full, we recommend submitting your application by the following dates to ensure full consideration and timely access to housing, orientation, and financial aid opportunities:
- Fall Term
- Freshman applicants: Apply by March 1
- Transfer applicants: Apply by July 1
- Spring Term
- All applicants: Apply by November 1
Applying by these suggested dates helps ensure the best possible experience during the admission and enrollment process. Early applications are encouraged, as space in certain academic programs may be limited.
How to Apply as a Graduate Student

Spring 2027 Enrollment:

Summer 2027 Enrollment:
- Priority Deadline: January 15, 2027
- Intent to Enroll/Deposit Deadline: April 1, 2027
Fall 2027 Enrollment:
- Priority Deadline: January 15, 2027
- Intent to Enroll/Deposit Deadline: July 1, 2027
International-specific deadlines:
- Financial Document Submission for I-20 Issuance:
- Priority Deadline: May 15, 2027
- Final Deadline: June 1, 2027
To qualify for admission into one of Valpo’s doctoral, master’s, or post-baccalaureate certificate programs, you must:
- Submit all required documents for domestic or international citizenship
- Graduate from an accredited college or university
- Earn a 3.0 GPA in all undergraduate and/or graduate coursework
To apply to one of Valpo’s graduate programs, U.S. citizens and permanent residents must submit:
- Valpo’s graduate application. Returning students who have missed two consecutive semesters must complete Valpo’s Re-admission Application.
- Official transcripts from all university courses you’ve taken. Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded to the application portal during the admission process. All official transcripts must be submitted prior to the start of classes.
- Two recommendation letters from professors or employers.
- A statement of purpose that describes why you are applying to Valpo, your interest in the degree program, and how it affects your personal and professional development. This can be 1–2 pages and should speak directly to the graduate program of interest.

- Entry-Level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) – fall starting term only

- Note: Admission to the two-year MSPA graduate program is limited to Valpo current students and alumni
- Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (DrOT)
